PEO Scholarship: Women Help Women

Philanthropic Educational Organization, P.E.O., is a unique advocacy organization for women with roots that date back to the 1860s. The sisterhood has several programs that promote education for women, including the PEO scholarship. Moreover, these also include the International Peace Scholarship, Program for Continuing Education, and Doctoral Scholar Awards.
High school seniors can also consider applying for STAR Scholarships. Besides, the organization also runs Cottey College, its own school. The school, which is four-year in length, is an accredited college of liberal arts and science.
What is the PEO Scholar Award?
PEO Scholar awards are $20,000 scholarships that are given annually to outstanding women who meet the criteria. The nominee must be a citizen of Canada or the United States at the time of nomination. The candidate must also be pursuing her doctoral studies at an accredited college. Students should be at least two years ahead of the organization’s program. The winners must have at least one year left to finish the application process for the scholarship. She should also be fully enrolled in her program.
Criteria for Eligibility for PEO Scholarship
The following conditions are required to be eligible for the PEO International Peace Scholarships for International Women Students:
- The P.E.O. The International Peace Scholarship Fund offers financial assistance to women who come from other countries. It is intended that they will use their education to help foster peace and make positive contributions to the world.
- An applicant must be in good standing for her first scholarship.
- First-time applicants are not eligible for doctoral students who have completed coursework but are only working on dissertations.
- International students who attend Cottey College may be eligible for a scholarship.
- The student must not be a citizen of the United States, Canada, or a permanent resident. Not allowed: Students who have tax-related residency are not eligible.
- If you do not combine coursework with online courses, research, internships, or practical training, scholarships are not available.
