Arizona Emergency Cash Assistance for Families

The Arizona Cash Assistance Program provides qualified low-income families with no more than 12 months of emergency cash assistance and supportive services.
The household income must be or below the federal poverty guidelines, for a family of three, their annual income should be $21,900.
Qualified applicants need to complete and sign an agreement to attend work activities, by law. Adults will undergo Arizona’s mandatory employment and training program, the Jobs Program

How much money do you get for?
Cash Assistance received largely depends on your family’s income and size. An unemployed single mother of two may receive $278 a month.
How do I apply?
Submit the completed application (first-timers and renewal of benefits) to Health-e-Arizona Plus. The application is the same as the application form for Medicaid and Nutrition Assistance.

How long will it take before getting approved for cash assistance?
An interview done in person or by phone will determine your family’s eligibility for the program after application. Find out about their decision after at most 45 days from your application date.
Withdraw your benefits at an ATM using a QUEST Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card.
The Grant Diversion Program is open for one large lump-sum payment request. Ask your interviewer about it.
