SNAP is the largest domestic hunger safety net program. Food and Nutrition Service (FNS), a state agency that works with nutrition educators and neighborhood and faith-based groups, ensures that all those who are eligible for nutrition assistance can make informed choices about how to apply and have access to benefits.
Eligibility Requirements For SNAP Benefits In Missouri
To be eligible for SNAP assistance program in Missouri, you must meet these eligibility requirements:
- Missouri Legal Resident
- US Citizen, or a lawful permanent residence
- Show proof of identity
- Respect certain income guidelines
- You have less than $2,250 of resources

Application For SNAP Benefits In Missouri
You can only submit food stamp applications in person at the FSD office. The interview will verify your application and allow you to review it.

Updates On The Approval of Food Stamps Application
In most cases, you will find out if your application has been approved for SNAP within 30 working days. Your application and any supporting documents will be processed by the Family Support Division as soon as it is received. This process can take up to 10 working days. After processing your application, you will receive a letter letting you know if you qualify for SNAP benefits.
You may be eligible for SNAP benefits within seven days in certain emergency situations. To determine if you are eligible, please complete Section 2 on your SNAP application. If you have any questions, you can tell the Family Support Division when you submit your application.
