Walmart Homeschool Grants

Walmart offers scholarships and homeschool grants to individuals and communities across the country. They also often provide funding for colleges and educational programs. They provide grants to homeschool students, but you will need to contact the company for more information. Walmart also offers scholarships to high school seniors who homeschool.
Walmart Homeschool Grants
Local Organizations
Funding from local Walmart stores is available to eligible organizations. It is unlikely that funding will be granted to a homeschool group through this program, as Walmart does not grant local community grants to groups that provide scholarships or services to their members.
Walmart grants for local communities cannot be granted to individuals or families.
Dependent Scholarship
Walmart offers some scholarships that homeschoolers can apply for. Walmart 2011 Dependent Scholarship was open to the children of Walmart employees who have been working there for at least six months.
To be eligible for the scholarship, students must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average as well as financial need.
Walmart Homeschool Educational Grants
Walmart funds nonprofit organizations aims to help with education at all levels. They have previously provided funding to several organizations, including the Institute for Higher Education Policy that aims to increase the number of college students of the first generation.
Community Scholarship
The Walmart Sam Walton community scholarship has the same academic and financial requirements as the Dependent Scholarship. It was worth $3,000 in 2011 and was available to homeschool students. Homeschool seniors can also be eligible for scholarships from the Walton Family Foundation.
The scholarship was available to only full-time Walmart associates’ dependents for a minimum of 12 consecutive months in 2011. To be eligible, students must have a combined SAT score 1030 or ACT score 22. Walmart offers associate employees scholarships.
Other Homeschooling Grants
Some libraries have received funding from the states. They have used this funding to offer services to homeschoolers in the public library. The State Homeschool Associations may cover homeschooling expenses and activities.
The West Virginia Home Educators Association offers up to $500 to cover expenses associated with homeschooling. You can use this for a variety of purposes. Students enrolled in the ED Anywhere alternative education program are eligible for grants of $100.
