A free gym membership (or a gym pass) is a great option for low-income households. It’s difficult enough to eat well on a limited budget. Many of our readers find that exercising (sometimes required gym with childcare for single mothers) can cost them a lot.
You’re not the only one who has ever wondered how to get free access to the gym. This is a common question that we receive a lot. We are happy to offer low-income gym discounts, free memberships and free day pass. There are many options for exercising free of charge.
The YMCA Free Gym Memberships
Many YMCAs offer financial assistance to low-income families. These programs are often called Affordable for All Memberships (or Income-Based Memberships), or Sliding Scale Rates. It may be called something else by your local YMCA. These programs, whatever their name may be, can help you receive a free or very low-cost membership, depending on your household size and income.
You will need to present proof of identity, address, income, and family members in order to qualify for the low-income discount. You may be able to apply online in some areas.
Community Recreation Centers With Low-Income Memberships
Low-income families may be eligible for reduced or free memberships at their local recreation center. All you have to do is call and inquire! It’s difficult to investigate all of the individual centers because there are so many. However, Tucson offers many discounts for residents with low incomes.
Free Gym Pass
You may still be eligible for a gym membership even if you don’t qualify. You can get access to the gym for only a short time like a day or week. Although it is not as convenient or as long-lasting as other gym passes, it can still be extremely helpful if you are looking to get fit without spending any money.
24-Hour Fitness (3-Day Pass)
You can receive a three-day trial pass to 24-Hour Fitness every six months. The pass is valid for 3 consecutive days starting from the first day. You can use it at multiple locations.
To be eligible for the 24-Hour Fitness pass, you must comply with certain conditions. You cannot have been a member or guest of 24 Hour Fitness in the past 6 months. A photo ID is a requirement. You must be at least 18 years of age or 12+ with a parent. You must also opt-in for marketing messages.
Anytime Fitness (7-Day Pass)
Anytime Fitness is free for a whole week. This pass is free for new customers, but only at the participating locations. This free pass cannot be claimed more than once in your life.
Crunch Fitness (1-Day Pass)
Crunch Fitness focuses on strength and cardio, so you can expect a great workout. They have an inclusive and friendly No Judgments philosophy that encourages all bodies to use its services.
Genesis Health Clubs (3-Day Pass)
A 3-day free pass is available to anyone who lives near Genesis Health Club. The pass grants unlimited access for the duration of one week. This benefit is not available to visitors from out of town. The pass is valid for local residents only once per lifetime.
Genesis Health Clubs are available in Colorado, Kansas Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Nebraska. Premier locations are not eligible for the pass.
XSport Fitness (7-Day Pass)
This is the perfect deal if you are looking for a gym pass that’s free! XSport Fitness offers 7 days of free gym workouts, classes, free tanning, hydromassage, and even a personal trainer session.
To be eligible for the pass you need to meet certain conditions. To be eligible, you must live within 25 miles of a gym. A photo ID will be required. To claim your pass, you must be at least 14 years old. Minors between 14 and 17 years must be accompanied by an adult to use their pass.
When you meet with an XSport fitness consultant, the seven-day pass starts. This must be done within seven days of receiving the pass. You will receive the pass instantly in your email so you can start immediately.
LA Fitness (3-Day Gym Pass)
You can get a 5-day free pass to any LA Fitness location every six months! You can only use the pass at the LA Fitness location that you choose. Other amenities may apply. Anyone over 16 years old can redeem the pass. Minors must have a parent/guardian sign the liability waiver.
Blink Fitness (1-Day Gym Pass)
Blink Fitness offers a free one-day pass! You must use the one-day pass within 30 days after you claim it on their website. Click the link to their website menu and sign up.
Gold’s Gym (1-Day Gym Pass)
You can get a one-day free pass to Gold’s Gym once every six months. You can use the cardio equipment, take classes and tour the gym with this pass.
Life Time (1-Day Passes every 60 days)
You can get a free 60-day membership to Life Time Athletic. To use the pass, you must be at least 18 and live in the same area as the Club.
This program has some exceptions. Some locations are not eligible for the program. Some clubs may limit your access to the pool or basketball courts. For more information, please call the nearest location.
Planet Fitness (1-Day Gym Pass)
Claim a day free in the Judgment Free Zone at Planet Fitness. When you request your free pass, you must select a location. One free pass can be requested every 90 days.
YouFit Health Club (3-day Gym Pass)
All Club facilities, equipment, and classes are available to you for free. Personal trainers can also be accessed for a day. The free gym pass can only be used once per year.

CorePower Yoga (14-day pass for $1)
CorePower Yoga offers studio access for $1 for two weeks. They will even allow rent for a towel and a yoga mat for new students!
When you start your first class, the first week begins. Select a class from the online schedule, then apply to get your free pass! All CorePower Yoga studios are eligible for the free pass.
UFC Gym (Free Classes)

Seniors (SilverSneakers Gym Pass)
SilverSneakers is a program that gives seniors a free pass to over 15,000 gyms in the United States. This program allows you to visit multiple locations at once and you can return as many times as you wish.

Seniors (Silver&Fit Gym Pass)
Silver&Fit is a program that offers free access to a gym and downloads of home workouts. Some Medicare Advantage plans offer access to Silver&Fit. Participating in the program could even earn you a reward!
SeniorPHIT (Personal Health Improvement Training)
This program offers many benefits. Two customized wellness plans can be created for you, including one for exercise and two meals. You also have access to an online coach who is available 24/7. The online database has thousands of recipes.
